Atlanta Riding Academy offers quality hunt seat riding lessons. The Academy is for those seeking excellence in the art, sport and discipline of Hunter/Jumper riding. Safety and skill building are emphasized in all aspects of the riding program. The Academy has show-quality horses and lessons are on a scenic farm minutes from downtown Decatur. Note: The hourly rental of horses is not offered.

The lesson program specializes in the returning adult. Children over age 8 are also welcome.  Riders work through exercises based on riding experience.  Atlanta Riding Academy also participates in other horse related activities such as:

  • Horse Shows at Georgia Intl Horse Park and Wills Park
  • Client Horse Shows Each Spring and Fall
  • Outings to Cross Country Courses, Hunter Paces
  • United States Pony Club
  • Vaulting
  • New in 2017 – Unmounted Introduction to Horsemanship Class at Little Creek. See below for more info.

Unmounted Intro to Horsemanship Class

Introduction to horsemanship for individuals who want to learn about horses, horse behavior and horses as athletes. This four week, unmounted class covers safety, general care, equipment and tack, breeds and confirmation and types of competitions and where to go to in Atlanta to see the action live. There is a class for children ages 11 and under and a class for teens and adults. For more information please see the page on Lesson Content.

Jump Club

Jump Club is for adult riders looking to improve skills and learn more about the sport of Hunter/Jumper riding. We meet monthly for brunch and plan Jump Club events. Jump Club attends clinics and shows both as spectators and competitors.  If you think that the only thing better than riding horses is talking about horses, then Jump Club is for you.
